First few days

The few days in the hospital went by in a blur but I was really happy to come home on Monday. We had lots of visitors and there were always nurses coming in and out to check on me and Isela. We roomed in with her the entire time, the first night was definitely a surprise since she would only sleep for at most 45 minutes then it was time to feed her again. I'm so glad we kept her in our room though - they took her away for about 40 minutes on Sunday night to draw some blood and I ended up teary eyed that she was gone too long...aahhh, hormones. Then we had to watch her get her Hepatitis B vaccine right in front of us which was sooo hard to watch!

While we were in the hospital, I got used to nursing her very frequently, we became experts at changing diapers (although I was nervous and watched Steve do the first few), got lots of instruction from the nurses, met with the pediatrician, and best of all got to spend plenty of time getting to know our precious new angel.

After spending Saturday and Sunday night in the hospital, we got to come home on Monday the 7th. Ella had a hearing check, met with her doctor, I met with my doctor, we received plenty of instructions, final birth certificate paperwork, and we were ready to go home!

When we got home, we saw that Dad & Donna had decorated with lots of "It's a Girl" decorations and a sign in the yard announcing her arrival which was so cute.
