Summer Camp

Ella had a great summer at Primrose for summer camp. They did all kinds of fun things - a bunch of field trips, shows, special activities, splash pad, and great themes every week.

Her class won a contest for the most donations for pet supplies for a local animal shelter so they were able to load up the truck with all the donations

And some Happy Grams from the summer:
6/19/13: Ella has been doing great this week! She has been following instructions and doing great artwork! Keep up the good work!

7/15/13: Ella is a great listener! She always follows directions correctly the first time! Keep up the great work Ella!

7/24/13: Ella has been doing excellent work this week. She takes her time and always gives her best effort during art time. Way to go, Ella.

8/8/2013: Today Ella cleaned up a huge mess that was made by another student. She graciously volunteered and did not complain or whine about the task. We appreciate her kindness and eagerness to help the teachers. She is a joy to work with! Thanks Ella :)

Some drawings and writings from her last several months at Primrose:

Primrose has been a great place for Ella since we moved here last March and we're so grateful for the great friends she's made. It was hard to say good-bye but she was beyond excited and ready to move on to kindergarten!

Anniversary Weekend and Visit from Mom

Steve and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary on August 10th! Mom came in the following weekend and we decided to take a last minute trip to New Orleans. We've never been before and it's been on my list of places to visit since we moved here, so we decided to check it out.

We had a great weekend together. We didn't do much but spent lots of time on Bourbon Street, by the hotel pool, and enjoying good restaurants.

While we were enjoying our time in New Orleans, Ella and Mom had a great time together. They stayed over at Mom's, swam in the pool, Ella got her first manicure at the nail shop, and had an all-around excellent weekend!

I was co-hosting a baby shower for a friend the following weekend and Mom and I built a diaper cake for the shower. Here it is!

Ella's First Baseball Game

In early August the Red Sox came to Houston play the Astros, and so we took Ella to see her first baseball game! It's pretty neat because the Astros just moved over to the American League this year, so of course we picked the Red Sox game to go to!

At home before the game

Our friends are Red Sox fans too and they were also going, so we drove together. Ella and Caleb had such a blast, and how cute are they holding hands??

We had sooo much fun at the game. Ella was a hoot - she was happy, cheering, and kept us laughing the whole time. It was a great game and the Red Sox ended up winning.

It was such a memorable night, one we'll always remember!
