Marbles Kids Museum

This weekend Mom & I took Ella to Marbles Kids Museum downtown. It's the first time we've taken Ella there and it's ideally for ages 1+ so I've been excited to take her there since her birthday.

All bundled up with Grammy and ready to go

She is of course still a little small to do a lot of things but she really had a great time and played for about 2 hours straight. We actually spent the whole time in this really big section called "About Town" where there are tons of little stations set up to be like a little town and many things to play with.

There was a little section for "baby marbles" and here are some pics from playing in there.

Ella loves ipods, phones, remotes, etc so I figured she'd really love playing with the toy cash register because of all the buttons and the drawer popping open, but it was too high for her, so I put her on a little chair so she could reach. Well of course she didn't realize the limitations of the chair and kept stepping off of it in one direction or the other so I spent a lot of the time either moving the chair to keep her on it, and otherwise making sure that she was steady on the chair. Mom took this video and although it's cute to see her playing with the register, the reason I'm posting this is because of the last ten seconds - you see her slide down the chair, make a really surprised face, then my face when I realize that she fell, and it makes me laugh out loud to watch it. Then of course she goes right back to playing. Maybe you had to be there to think it's funny but I really get a kick out of it and think it's pretty amusing!

Probably the most fun for Ella was playing with a train track that was the perfect height for her. She got right in there next to bigger kids and played right alongside of them.

Best of all was knocking trains off the track as soon as Mom would push them around a bend - Mom just kept pushing them over and she just kept pushing them off in a pile as fast as she could...watch this video clip to see
Here we are at the end of all that fun, a BIG YAWN from my little one! Photobucket

It was a really fun time and I definitely want to go back often - there was still plenty of musuem that we haven't seen yet, and I really think Ella had a wonderful time.

Looks like so much fun! I have to admit it makes me envious and eagar to move somewhere with fun activities a little but closer to home. Luckily, Caroline is easily entertained for now...

Even her slow motion falling won't stop her...must get back to calculations!

She is certainly very determined to get back to her number-crunching - it's hard being a baby with all that hard work to do!

Katy I know what you mean! Not that St. Robert isn't bustling with activities :)
