Fun Morning Swimming

We've taken Dottie swimming just a few times so far and she absolutely loves it. She kicks her legs around splashes and has a great time. 

And this was so, so funny. Ella accidentally spilled some water on Dottie and then Dottie thought it was so funny that she just kept doing it - it was hysterical!!

Swim Meet in Pearland - 6/6/15

It was an EARLY morning - we had to leave the house at 6:15 am to be there for checkin at 6:45 am. Ella was really tired and dragging but recovered and we actually enjoyed a really pretty sunrise on the drive over to the pool in Pearland

And for the best part of every meet? Lots of fun with her friends :)

We found out on Monday when Ella got her ribbons at practice that she ended up winning First Place in her heat for the butterfly! This was her first 1st place and a really big deal because she has only swam butterfly in one meet before and didn't get a time because she was DQ'ed for not bringing her arms out of the water with every stroke. 

So she was extremely proud of her accomplishment when she got her 1st place ribbon, and wanted to get a bunch of pictures. 

Unfortunately Dottie couldn't keep her hands off the ribbon so Ella was grumpy in this one :)

She was really determined to learn how to tie and she loves doing it - I got her a pair of tie shoes that she is really proud of, and she has been volunteering to tie mine whenever I am wearing sneakers.
