Dance Fun Show

Ella participates in a dance program at school called Dance Fun, and they had a little show last week to show off what they've been learning.

She was very proud of her trophy, slept with it that night and brought it to school in her backpack the next morning. So cute!

My Little Chippette

One of Ella's favorite things to do right now is listen to Alvin & the Chipmunks songs and dance to them. I took her to the movie theater to see Chipwrecked after Christmas, and Mom took her a month or so later, and for the last few weeks, she can't get enough of the songs from the movie soundtrack.

They have all these different recorded cover songs of current songs and she just loves them. There are both Chipmunks and Chippettes (the girl chipmunks), and Ella prefers the Chippettes of course. She doesn't know the 'real' songs, and is very surprised when I know them too. She constantly asks for my phone so that she can play the songs on You Tube, and then sings and dances like a wild woman. It is hysterical and I could watch her all day.

Erin reminded me of Ella's "Born this Way" obsession when we visited them a few weekends ago - she must have played it 60 times! I am guessing Cameron will be forever grateful for his introduction to the Lady Gaga  as sung by my little Chipette.

Here is a video clip I put together of several different times I've caught her dancing (which isn't easy because she usually likes to hold my phone while she's dancing so I can't record her!). I just can't get enough of her moves!!

Dance class

Ella started dance class a few Saturdays ago. The class is half ballet and half tap, and she loves every minute of it. It is the cutest thing, I love to see her have such a good time learning new things.

Pictures from the class - it's pretty hard to watch as clearly as I'd like, the window is pretty small and all the parents are kind of crammed in trying to see, but it is so cute to watch.

Smooth Moves

Glenn got Ella a little keyboard and Ella was so funny with it the other day. She prefers to play the preset songs and was doing this hysterical little dance with pointing her fingers and moving to the beat. Check out this video -

The Return of Jingle Bells

This time last year Ella amazed us with her dancing to Jingle Bells. As soon as the music started, she just started bopping to the beat and spinning circles. For a trip down memory lane, watch it again here.
